Wanda Mills Cassady:  

I graduated from Inez High on May 22nd and married Billy R. Cassady on May 23, 1964. We headed North on Route 23 and Columbus, Ohio. Bill had several jobs, Charm Builders, Buckeye Steel and then Western Electric. I worked at Western Electric also. We rode to work together. We worked our way up from a 2 room apartment to a house and 5 acres out in the country. After working there for 8 years, Bill decided he wanted to move back to KY. We quit our jobs and bought a farm in Lawrence County, KY. Bill worked at Martiki Coal running a shovel and I got a job at Louisa Hospital as a Ward Secretary and then the Louisa Health Dept. I didn't have my 2 boys until I was 30 and 32. I was very blessed to get to stay home with them when they were babies and toddlers. Bill talked me into buying a store in Fallsburg in 1982. Billy was in kindergarten and Brian was 3. We both were very involved in the store and did very well. Fallsburg didn't have cable TV then and Bill built a cable system for the area. We later sold it to a large company. I was very involved in PTA and Bill and I donated land for a Community Center and Park in Fallsburg, The officers and board members worked very hard to get the little Community Center. When my boys were growing up, we had a lot of stuff going on for kids at the Center.
